Hello my friends and welcome to the official Stampin’ Up! Artisan Design Team blog hop! I hope you enjoy your stop here in Calgary, AB Canada and are excited to be whisked around the world for a fabulous blog hop! This week we are using a selection of different flower and baby stamp sets, so the hop should be quite a mix!
Today’s card is one that has all of my favourite things: watercolouring, bright colours, gold splatter, and twine. Yep, this is an Allison card for sure!
The random watercolouring on this card was created with my three ‘go to’ colours: Melon Mambo, Bermuda Bay, and Daffodil Delight. First, I stamped the flower image on watercolour paper and set the ink with the heat tool. Next I took my Aqua Painter filled with water and did a water wash over the portions of the card I wanted the watercolouring to spread to. I didn’t want my flower image to be coloured perfectly, so I intentionally added extra water outside the lines. After the water was applied I went straight for my ink pads and added bursts of colour with my Aqua Painter. Don’t overthink it, just let it all mix and blend naturally.
Both the incredible flower image and ‘thanks’ are from the Helping Me Grow stamp set, and you’ll find that swirly ‘friend’ in the Endless Thanks stamp set. Don’t they look fabulous paired together?!

Allison, I really struggled with a good way to color that particular stamp. I love this idea.

Allison this is the prettiest card I have seen with this set. I love the technique. I love it too as I don't have to stay in the lines to colour!!
