Hello friends and welcome to the official Stampin’ Up! Artisan Design Team blog hop. This is Allison Okamitsu coming to you from Calgary AB, Canada. Welcome to by blog!
This week I’m sharing an extremely sentimental project with you, the wedding photos of my Nanna and Poppa. These photos were given to me by my aunt who has asked me to help preserve these memories before the book that they are currently in falls to pieces.
I scanned these vintage photos into my computer and then got them reprinted as the originals are glued into a book that’s in tatters. I love that the aging of the photos goes so perfectly with the new line of copper products from Stampin’ Up! I used lots of Copper Embossing Powder to heat emboss the beautiful flowers from the Love & Affection stamp set.
The copper designer paper in the new Affectionately Yours collection made the perfect accent for a few pockets in my layout and I made a fun photo frame out of it too.
When documenting photos that have such a beautiful patina I think it’s important to keep the embellishments simple and beautiful too. I’ve added some flowers I punched out of the Glassine Sheets, a Metallic Doily that I turned over to use the white side, and one of the Classy Designer Buttons for just a little embellishing that didn’t take away from the photos.
I encourage you to document your memories. Leave a lasting piece of history that your grandchildren can hold on to. I can’t express in words how thankful I am to have these photos in my family album.
