Hello friends and happy Friday! It’s still super duper cold here in Calgary, but I’m doing my absolute best to not leave the house. If I just stay in my studio and stamp I can forget how bitterly freezing it is out there.
Today’s card is one that generated a lot of chatter at my Cards and Cupcakes Class last month. The ladies were so excited to learn how they could use Stampin’ Write Markers to colour on the rubber of their stamps to create a multicoloured image. Is this something you’ve done before? It’s so super simple. You just use the brush tip end of your markers to apply ink to your stamp, give it a ‘huff’ (breathe on the stamp to remoisten the ink), and then stamp your image onto cardstock. It’s such a stunning effect.
Creative Tips:
- Many Marvellous Markers for the win! Investing in a set of the Stampin’ Up! Markers was one of the most exciting purchases I’ve made in my Stampin’ Up! career (next to the Big Shot!). I love that I can stamp multicoloured images in ANY of the Stampin’ Up! colours quickly and easily.
- Be bold! I love nontraditional Christmas colours for cards – interestingly enough I decorate my home almost exclusively with traditional colours. I find that in the shuffle of Christmas cards that come into our home, it’s always the handmade and then the ones using interesting colour combinations that catch my eye. So reach for your Tempting Turquoise, Daffodil Delight, and Emerald Envy to go with your Real Red.
At 1pm mountain time today I’ll be LIVE on my NicePeopleStamp Facebook Page to share my favourite Stampin’ Up! stocking stuffers and gifts. Please come join me!
