Hello crafters, cardmakers, and stampers! I can’t believe I almost forgot to share this modern Christmas wreath I made this year. I was looking for something more sleek and sophisticated than the overly decorated wreaths I was seeing in the stores, so I decided to DIY my vision.
I started with a ring form from the local craft store that was made of a pressed wood type material. I think it’s called MDF. I wrapped the form with the White ¾” Frayed Ribbon. It was easy to attach each end with hot glue and I even made a little loop from the same ribbon so I could hang the wreath easily.
The showstopping element to this wreath is definitely the designer paper wrapped styrofoam balls. I started with styrofoam balls in two sizes and wrapped them with strips of the Festive Foils Specialty Designer Paper. I found that each ball took 8 strips of paper cut ½” wide, and the length of the paper varied depending on the size of the ball. I secured the ends with hot glue.
After the balls were wrapped with paper, I used hot glue to attach them to my ribbon wrapped wreath and embellished with some greenery I had leftover from another project. I LOVE the minimalist and modern look of this wreath in my home and I will be using it for many years to come.
