I had an absolutely AMAZING weekend with my crafty customer friends in Banff this weekend! Day 2 of the retreat was packed with great make n’ takes, more gifts for my guests, a fun dinner out at Chili’s restaurant, the much anticipated late night candy bar, and of course crafting into the wee hours of the morning. I finally went to bed at 4:30am! Yikes!
All of our make n’ takes were designed using some of the ‘garbage’ from the Everyday Occasions Card Kit to make templates for spritzing, embossing, watercolouring, or doing some ombre sponging. So next time you pop out some die cut shapes, think of what you can do with the pieces that are left behind. Not all garbage is truly garbage. 🙂
The candy bar was a big hit again this year. I just love that gumball machine cookie jar and I get asked every year where I got it, so I’ll just let you know now that I bought it at Stokes last summer.
Day 2 is also the soup lunch day that everyone loves. This year it was Chicken Taco Soup with homemade cornbread, chips and salsa, veggies and dip, and chocolate and peanut butter chip cookies. Many of the ladies asked for the soup recipe, so here’s a link to the one I used. The only change I made is that I didn’t add the sour cream into the soup, but let the ladies add their own as a garnish on top and omitted the guacamole and chip strips.
Thanks for checking in! And stay tuned, I’m nearly finished with the contracts to book the 2014 retreat dates! As soon as I have the dates confirmed you will all be the first to know. 🙂
Happy Stampin’
Allison
