Hello friends and thanks for visiting me today. I have a fun card for you that I created with my SE Calgary Card Club ladies several weeks ago featuring some watercolouring and the faux metal technique.
First let’s talk about the amazing stamp set I’ve used, Going Global. I love this set for travel related memory keeping, all occasion cards, and it would even be awesome for home decor. Bad news, it’s retiring. Good news, you still have time to get yours in my Canadian Online Stampin’ Up! Shop.

Now let’s take a closer look at the faux metal technique.
To create this at home you’ll need a Heat Tool, Silver Embossing Power, VersaMark Ink Pad, and the stamp of your choice.
- Ink stamp with VersaMark and set aside.
- Cover a scrap of cardstock with VersaMark Ink. Cover a large enough area for your chosen stamp.
- Cover with embossing powder, and heat with heat tool.
- Repeat steps 2 & 3 until you have three layers of embossing powder.
- Heat last layer of embossing powder until hot and then press inked stamp into the melted embossing powder.
- Punch or die cut in the shape of your choice.
I hope you have fun creating some faux metal pieces to use on your paper crafting projects. And don’t forget to get your Going Global stamp set before it’s gone forever!
