Happy Saturday! I hope you’re having a fabulous weekend! I arrived home yesterday morning from an amazing vacation, but unfortunately I’m all turned around and have a major case of jet lag. Yuck. All jet lag aside, it was the trip of a lifetime to Japan to do some touring and visit with my in-laws. This was my third (and longest) trip there, and I’m always amazed at how beautiful this country is!
Here’s some of the highlights!
The holy gate at Miyajima.
My father in-law is a survivor of the Hiroshima A-bomb attack, so seeing the ‘dome’ and visiting the city was extremely important to me.
Super cool curved bridge: Kintaikyou
A Japanese baseball game is like no other! The fans are absolutely wild and the experience was amazing! I loved it!!! Go Hanshin Tigers Go!
Ginkakuji temple in Kyoto.
Geisha spotting in Kyoto. We were extremely lucky to see many many of these beautiful ladies while we were there.
Kimigamo temple
My favourite temple and the most stunning: Kinkakuji
While in Kyoto there were 2 outdoor festivals that we attended. This is a piece of kimono fabric, stunning!
The temple pictured on the 10YEN coin! Byodoin
Godaiji temple.
The gate at Asakusa, a must visit in the city of Tokyo!
The heat and humidity in Japan in the summer is absolutely like nothing I’ve ever experienced. SO HOT and unbearably humid. Seriously, my sweat was sweating. I know, gross.
Have a great weekend. I’ll be back to blogging on Monday. I’m taking Sunday off to unpack and get some rest. 🙂
