Hello my friends and welcome to the Fancy Friday blog hop! Once per month I team up with my current and past Artisan Design Team friends for a special blog hop of truly incredible projects. Thank you so much for joining us! Right now you’re ‘in’ the snowy city of Calgary in Alberta, Canada. Our theme for this hop is ‘mostly white’ and it seems rather fitting as it’s been COLD and a little snowy here for weeks.
I’ve used the Reason for the Season stamp set and coordinating Festive Flower Builder Punch for my card today. I love the special, festive feeling a poinsettia brings, so I thought this big beautiful flower on my card was perfect for this special blog hop.
You can add lots of dimension to your flower with just a bone folder. I created a ‘vein’ down the centre of each petal and then curled all their ends for some added height.
Creative Tips:
- Be a stand out! Make your focal image POP off the page with some added definition. I simply sponged the edges of my petals with Pink Pirouette Ink to make them stand out from the rest of this very white card.
- Tempt them with texture. Looking at this card don’t you wish you could reach out and touch it? I love adding layers and layers of texture on my cards. Here I’ve used the Fancy Frost Designer Paper (on sale right now!) in addition to the Thick White Baker’s Twine, and White Perfect Accents for lots of different textural interest.
Thanks for stopping by the cold country of Canada today, and if you’re a fellow Canadian experiencing the cold temps that Calgary is, stay warm!

Allison, I love the beautiful pastel pink color for a Christmas card! It's so serene and peaceful. I love the subdued background with the embossed paper, too. Gorgeous!
