Hello my friends, and welcome to the inspiration challenge for TGIF Challenges! Here’s what we are working with:
This one had me a little stumped, but I powered through and came up with something I think you’re going to like.
I did a ton of watercolouring on this card. I started with a full sheet of watercolour paper and stamped my large images with StazOn Ink. These were then watercoloured with Pumpkin Pie and Crushed Curry Inks. Then I went back in and watercoloured the area around with Wild Wasabi. The final step was adding in the ferns with Mossy Meadow (which I stamped off once so my ink was not too dark).
When you’re watercolouring don’t feel like every little image needs to be perfect. I took this close-up shot so you could see just how imperfect my watercolouring is on this card.
And because I started with a full sheet of watercolour paper, I had a bit leftover after I had cut the panel for my card. BAM! That makes a bonus card!
Don’t forget that your scraps or leftovers can be turned into something beautiful too!
Thanks for visiting me today! I hope you’ll play along with us over at TGIF Challenges this week!

Allison, those are so beautiful! I'm inspired to try watercoloring! How do you do the background? Do you use aquapainters?
Thanks! Cheryl

Hi Cheryl! Thank you so much! You're so sweet to say so!
Here are some instructions from the blog post: I did a ton of watercolouring on this card.
And yes, an aqua painter was used for the whole thing. 🙂
Hope that helps!

Beautiful cards Allison! I love the softness the water coloring brings to the images. I really like that you lined the panels on the right to create borders on the left, a little detail but impactful!
